Infrastructure and Transport Min Dimas meets with new Chinese Ambassador Fang Qiu

Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas met on Thursday with the new Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Athens Fang Qiu. 

According to a statement from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimas welcomed Fang Qiu to Greece and emphasised that upgrading the railway connection from the port of Piraeus to Central Europe, as well as enhancing the railway connections of Greek ports in general, is a strategic priority for Greece and a key area of cooperation with countries along the route. 

Fang Qiu confirmed China's interest in connecting Piraeus to the rail network for freight transport and invited Dimas to visit China.
