New Democracy MP Dimitris Kyriazidis removed from party's Parliamentary Group

Ruling New Democracy's ethics and code of conduct committee on Saturday decided that ND MP for Drama Dimitris Kyriazidis should be expelled from the party's Parliamentary Group, in a session chaired by Ioannis Tragakis.
In its decision, based on a written request to consider the MP's expulsion submitted by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the committee found that "there are reasons as cited in the above document of the president of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis" and that "Kyriazidis, through his unparliamentary and uncollegial behaviour within the plenary of Parliament has placed himself outside New Democracy's Parliamentary Group. In light of these, the MP for Drama Dimitris Kyriazidis is stricken off as a member of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group."
The request for his removal followed personal remarks he addressed to opposition Plefsi Eleftherias party leader Zoi Konstantopoulou, which were strongly criticised as inappropriate by members of all parties.
