State mechanism on alert due to adverse weather on Tuesday

The state mechanism is on alert due to the heavy rainfall, the storms and snowfall affecting the country.  

According to Civil Protection Ministry sources, the Risk Assessment Committee convened again on Monday. The members of the committee recommended that local mayors decide which schools should close on Tuesday.

In parallel they updated the ban on heavy vehicles on motorway, while the Greek police has made a relevant announcement.

Also, all fire services and base stations in areas where the phenomena will continue to be intense are on alert. It is noted that special emphasis is given in the Peloponnese, Cyclades and Crete where rainfall and storms are expected on Tuesday.
