Very high temperatures expected in Greece in the following days

The extended high pressure area over the coasts of Africa and the Central Mediterranean, which is accompanied by very warm air masses, is gradually extending eastward and will bring very high temperatures in Greece from Tuesday until Friday. The highest temperatures will be recorded in the interior of mainland Greece, mainly in the central and southern parts of the country, in areas not affected by the sea breeze.
Specifically, according to the National Meteorological Service's Emergency Weather Report
1. On Tuesday, high temperatures will prevail mainly in the central and southern continents. The maximum temperature will reach:
a. up to 36C or 37C in the northern mainland regions and 37-38C in central Macedonia.
b. from 36-39C in western Central Greece and the western Peloponnese.
c. from 39-40C and locally 41C in eastern Central Greece, Thessaly and the eastern Peloponnese.
d. Around 34-36C in the Aegean and Cyclades islands and in the Ionian islands and 37-8C in the Dodecanese and as high as 39C in the interior of Crete.
On Wednesday (12/6) and Thursday (13/6), both minimum and maximum temperatures will further increase further.
