European Commission approves second RRF payment to Greece of 3.6 bln euros

The European Commission on Monday approved Greece's request for the disbursement of the second payment from the Recovery & Resilience Fund (RRF), amounting to 3.6 billion euros.

The approval was made known by Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni.

The request, which includes subsidies of 1.72 billion euros and loans of 1.84 billion euros, was submitted on September 30, 2022, by Greek Deputy Finance Minister Theodoros Skilakakis.

Of the 28 benchmarks that were successfully completed, 19 relate to reforms, 6 to investments and 3 to loans.
