'New India' to be the hallmark of this year's TIF

Curry, Bollywood, pashminas and high technology will mark the 84th Thessaloniki International Fair, Kyriakos Pozrikidis, CEO of TIF-Helexpo SA told ANA-MPA, a few days ahead of the official opening of the Fair in September 7.
"This year's TIF will have a scent of India, a little curry, a little Bollywood, pashminas and technology, aerospace, high tech companies, the "New India" which is the moto used by Indians to show the new India, not the traditional one," Pozrikidis said, adding that "the World Trade Organization estimates that India will play a leading role globally in the next 20 years and could possibly reach number one in global economy. It is a country with a population of 1.5 billion and has a trade balance below zero with Greece. I think it is an opportunity to raise bilateral trade and see how we could attract investments from India from companies investing outside India and see Greece as a bridge to Europe".
He said that this year's TIF will have more than 1,500 exhibitors and noted the increased interest from startup companies. Visitors will enjoy India cuisine, traditional dances and music combined with night concerts, the cannabis salon and a circus for children, he added. Pozrikidis noted that TIF will offer 5G services on a pilot base.
