The bill on the safety and modernization of the railways will be presented by the Alternate Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, at the cabinet meeting to be held on Monday. The bill is based on two pillars. The first will include regulations aimed at the safety and modernization of the railway network, while the second will concern personnel.
A new company "New Greek Railways" will be created, where OSE, GAIA OSE and ERGOSE will merge. The company will operate on private-economic criteria, based on the model of PPC.
At 16:00, Kyranakis will give a press conference to give a breakdown on the immediate implementation measures included in the bill on the railway, which is expected to be put out for public consultation in the coming days.
