Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis in Athens and Thessaloniki

In the presence of a large number of people, a Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis was celebrated on Friday afternoon at the Catholic Cathedral Basilica of Saint Denis (Saint Dionysius Aeropagite).
The Holy Mass was attended by, among others, the former President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Sofia Zacharaki, representatives of PASOK and SYRIZA, the representative of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos, representatives of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchates of Alexandria and Jerusalem and other Churches, such as Armenians, Anglicans, Evangelicals and the Islamic Mosque of Athens. National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias said in a post on X that he attended "the Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Pope Francis, at the Cathedral of St. Dionysius of Aeropagite, where I signed the book of condolences".
The Catholic Archdiocese of Athens in a statement stressed that Pope Francis' "entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with faith, courage and Catholic love, especially for the poorest and most marginalized."
Also on Friday afternoon, a Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis was celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Thessaloniki.
