The Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni, the Mayor of Veria Konstantinos Vorgiasidis, and the Mayor of Naoussa Heroic City Nikolaos Koutsogiannis, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the establishment and operation of a Tourism Management and Promotion Organisation (DMMO) by the two municipalities.

According to an announcement, the operation of DMMOs is a strategic choice of the Ministry of Tourism in order to exploit the competitive advantages of each destination, attracting visitors from new markets. It also aims to ensure the effective management of their resources and infrastructure, to highlight unique travel experiences, and to enhance the quality of services provided. 

"DMMOs are an important tool in the Ministry of Tourism's strategy for the qualitative development of Greek tourism and for the sustainability and strengthening of the competitiveness of our destinations," Kefalogianni said. She also stressed that they will act as a bridge of cooperation between the public and private sectors, ensuring the effective and targeted promotion of tourist destinations.
