The Independent Authority for Public Revenues (AADE) on Friday triggered the automated submission of 739,576 pre-filled and pre-cleared income tax returns, which concern 835,766 individuals. If the information included in these forms is incorrect or incomplete, tax payers have until July 15 to submit an amended income tax return without any penalty.
Regarding the tax that is due, the same rules apply as for tax returns submitted by tax payers manually, with up to eight equal installments, of which the first is due on July 31, 2025 and the rest on the last working day of each subsequent month. For taxes that are paid early, up until July 31, there is a 4% discount, while the same discount will be given for amendments submitted up until April 30.
In the case of amended income tax returns submitted after May 1 that result in additional payment of taxes, there is 3% discount if they are submitted up until June 16 and 2% for those submitted until July 15. The initial amount of tax due retains the 4% discount.
