Commissioner Tzitzikostas meets with heads of European Airports, Airbus, Boeing and Fraport

The Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas, held meetings in Brussels with the Board of Directors of the International Council of Airports (ACI Europe) and the heads of Boeing, Airbus and Fraport.
The meetings focused on the new European policy for air transport, currently being developed by the European Commission (Aviation Strategy), with emphasis, as noted in the relevant announcement, on "strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability" of the sector.
During the meeting with the ACI Europe Board of Directors, led by Director General Olivier Jankovec, the challenges facing European airports were discussed, as "the common objective is to further develop air connectivity, which is key to enhancing competitiveness and ensuring cohesion across Europe".
The meeting that Tzitzikostas had with CEO of Fraport Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport Greece Alexander Zinell, and CEO of the Copelouzos Group Christos Copelouzos, also took place in a "similar atmosphere of cooperation", as it is mentioned.
The Commissioner also had a meeting with Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, who presented to him all of Airbus' activities (civil, military and space) and their importance for the European economy. He also stressed that "Airbus is a supporter of the EU's drive for sustainable aviation fuels and decarbonisation".
In his meeting with Boeing Global President Dr. Brendan Nelson, Tzitzikostas also discussed "the prospects of the transatlantic market, based on the EU-US Air Transport Agreement (ATA) and the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA), as well as the EU's priorities for aviation, aerospace and airports".
Productive meetings with the European Airports @ACI_EUROPE and the leadership of @Airport_FRA.
