Passenger traffic in Greek airports 6.5 pct up in Q1 2025

Passenger traffic increased by 6.5 percent in all Greek airports in the first quarter of 2025, relative to the first quarter of 2024, and by 9.1 percent at the 24 airports managed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
According to figures released by the CAA, the total number of passengers (arrivals and departures of international and domestic passengers) in January-March 2025 amounted to 687,049 passengers, compared to 629,557 passengers in 2024, at its 24 airports (Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupolis, Limnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastelorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia).

6.5 percent increase in passenger traffic at the country's 39 airports

A 6.5 percent increase was also recorded in passenger traffic for the first quarter of 2025 at all airports in the country.
Specifically, passenger traffic in the period January-March 2025 reached 8,626,646, compared to 8,096,698 passengers in the corresponding period in 2024.
Regarding the number of aircraft arrivals and departures (domestic and international aircraft) in the first quarter of 2025 at all 39 airports in the country, whose air traffic control is mainly exercised by the Civil Aviation Authority, there was an increase of 5.2% compared to 2024. Specifically, in total, 75,132 flights were carried out during the period January-March 2025, compared to 71,413 flights in the first quarter of 2024.
