Parliament President Kaklamanis receives Ambassador of Israel Katz

Parliament President Nikitas Kaklamanis on Tuesday met with the Ambassador of Israel in Athens, Noam Katz.
According to a parliament announcement, Kaklamanis stressed that it is necessary to resume negotiations on the ceasefire, in order to ensure the release of the remaining hostages and to protect the civilian population in Gaza.
"We must make every effort to maximise the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and restore access to drinking water and electricity," Kaklamanis said.
The parliament president underlined that the two parliaments have a close cooperation that can be further strengthened via the Friendship Groups and meetings of the presidents of parliamentary committees.
On his part, Katz expressed the certainty that Greece and Israel can help promote stability and security in the wider region.
He noted, in fact, that the goal of the two peoples is to strengthen cooperation in many areas of common interest, placing particular emphasis on the creation of energy routes from the Eastern Mediterranean to Europe.
