Mitsotakis: We are building a new national health system, step by step, for all Greeks

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Tzaneio Hospital on Friday, where he was welcomed by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and the hospital's administration and given a tour of its renovated wings.

"This is a renovation that took place while the hospital was in operation," the prime minister stated, adding: "We are essentially talking about a new hospital that has no reason to envy even the best hospitals in the private sector, and we are truly proud to be able to provide the National Health System with such infrastructure. I would also say that the best proof that something is really changing in the National Health System is the smiles of satisfaction of both the patients and especially the employees, who remember what Tzaneio was like before and recognise the enormous progress that has been made."

"I want to reiterate once again that this project, like many others that will be delivered over the coming period of time, is financed by European funds and in particular by the Recovery Fund and this is again the best proof that the resources of the Recovery Fund are not directed to a few, as some insist, but ultimately give us the opportunity to upgrade infrastructure that serves the many," the prime minister underlined.

"The National Health System is changing," he underlined, adding that "two years from now, we will have many fully equipped and state-of-the-art emergency departments in all our major hospitals, we will have upgraded over 150 health centres and we will have turned into action our commitment to build, step by step and stone by stone, a new National Health System for all Greeks."
