ACCI president Bratakos meets with Alternate Infrastructure Minister Kyranakis

The strengthening of connectivity between productive areas, ports, industrial zones and freight centres was discussed at a meeting between the Deputy Infrastructure and Transport Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis and the President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Yannis Bratakos on Thursday.
According to an ACCI announcement, the meeting took place in the framework of the institutional dialogue for the improvement of infrastructure, transport and the country's growth potential.
During the discussion, the role of transport and logistics as strategic sectors for accelerating the restructuring of production, the facilitation of business activity and the interconnection of the Greek economy with international markets was highlighted. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to enhance connectivity between production regions, ports, industrial zones and freight centres, as well as on the importance of integrated interventions with high added value.
The need for coherent and long-term planning of infrastructure and transport, which will serve the priorities of the country's new production model, was highlighted. Furthermore, the importance of the use of modern technologies, the digitalisation of processes and the promotion of sustainable and green infrastructure was stressed, as necessary prerequisites for a competitive and resilient economic environment.
At the same time, a number of issues of concern to the business community were raised, such as the need to simplify the licensing procedures for infrastructure projects, the strengthening of public-private partnerships (PPPs), the use of Recovery Fund and NSRF resources, as well as the faster promotion of critical projects that will enhance regional cohesion and the supply chain.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue cooperation and regular exchange of views, with the aim of creating a framework that will further enhance and facilitate the development of entrepreneurship.
