GNTO's Fiorentinos at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025

The Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) Andreas Fiorentinos visited Miami for the international Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 exhibition, representing GNTO at the most important event of the cruise industry worldwide.
According to a statement, Fiorentinos had numerous high-level contacts with leading representatives of the tourism and shipping sector while in Miami, reinforcing the GNTO's strategy for the further development of the cruise sector in Greece and the strengthening of relations with the North American market.
Fiorentinos held a series of important meetings with top executives of the international shipping and tourism industry, with the aim of strengthening Greece's presence in the cruise and luxury yachting sector.
In particular, he met with Chris Alexander Korfiatis, Vice President Fleet Technical Operations of Royal Caribbean Group. During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of utilising Greek shipyards - such as the Skaramangas Shipyards - for ship repair and maintenance work, as well as the group's interest in docking in Greek ports (Home Porting), with the aim of strengthening Royal Caribbean's presence in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Subsequently, the Secretary-General met with Daniel Wade, Vice President and Global Head of Strategic Partnerships (V.P. & Global Head of Strategic Partnerships) of Marinemax. The discussion focused on the group's keen interest in entering the Greek luxury yachting market as a strategic expansion of their business portfolio in the region.
Finally, a meeting was held with Stefanos Makrymichalos, Executive Chairman of IYL.COM, which is active in the luxury yachting sector. The subject of the meeting was the further development and promotion of the sector in Greece, through investments and strategic partnerships that will enhance the country's tourism product and contribute to the positioning of Greece as an international destination of high standards.
Of particular importance were the contacts with representatives of the international press and leading tourism publications, such as Travel Weekly, Global Traveler, Live Media and Canadian Travel Press, where Fiorentinos discussed the strategic initiatives of the GNTO and the comparative advantages of the Greek tourism product, emphasising the authenticity of experiences, gastronomy, cultural heritage and the country's high-quality tourism infrastructure, discussing issues related to the expansion of cruise destinations in Greece, sustainability and innovation in tourism.
The active participation of the GNTO and its chief in the Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 exhibition confirms the continuous effort to strengthen Greece's international presence in the cruise sector, attract new partnerships and shape a more resilient and sustainable tourism model, and demonstrates the continuous effort to promote Greece as a "Top-of-mind destination", a destination that immediately grabs the attention, reflecting the vision of a country that leads and innovates in tourism, with a consistent focus on global competitiveness.
