Papathanasis: Second place in the EU in terms of absorption of NSRF funds is an irrefutable witness

Greece now ranks second among EU Member States in terms of the absorption of NSRF funds - for the first time in the implementation of the 2021-2027 programming period - according to official data published by the European Commission (https://cohesiondata.ec.europa.eu/cohesion_overview/21-27).
Specifically, Greece, in terms of disbursements for projects that have already been carried out and have boosted the economy, is ranked second after the Czech Republic, ahead of Finland, Luxembourg and Cyprus, which make up the top five. Sweden, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Denmark, Poland and France, complete the top twelve, followed by the other EU member states.
It is noted that, following the full absorption of NSRF funds during the 2014-2020 programming period, for the 2021-2027 programming period, actions amounting to over 22 billion euros have already been outlined, out of a total budget of 26.3 billion euros, while total calls for proposals amounting to 18.9 billion euros have been issued, corresponding to 71.4% of the total NSRF budget.
Alternate Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis underlined on the specific issue: ""The second place among the EU member-states in terms of the absorption of NSRF 2021-2027 funds, and indeed for the first time during this programming period, is another irrefutable witness to the measurable result produced by the developmental economic policy of the governments of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the coordinated daily work with all stakeholders of the Central and General Government. In an environment of political stability and social cohesion, using every available euro for the benefit of society and the economy, we accelerate the reforms that the country needs, we strengthen entrepreneurship, infrastructure, extroversion and innovation, we improve the daily life of our fellow citizens, we transform progress in economic indicators into social welfare and individual prosperity."
