Publisher and journalist of specialized car magazines Kostas Kavvathas dies at 86

Publisher and journalist Kostas Kavvathas, known for creating the leading magazine for cars '4 Trochoi' in 1970, died on Wednesday aged 86. 

Kavvathas was born in 1939 in Athens and studied mechanics at Northern Polytechnic in London, starting a career in newspapers with 'Mesimvrini' in 1964 as car reporter. He worked for several media outlets, including 'Kathimerini', 'To Vima', the magazine 'Epikaira' and Mega TV channel.

He founded four magazines, hosted radio programs, and wrote two books, among his many activities that were focused on cars.

Premier's condolences

A message of condolences was issued by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who called him "one of the most successful publishers in the sector of specialized media," and extolled Kavvathas' "great contribution in the sector of awareness related to road safety and electric mobility."
