PASOK: FinMin celebrating by 'selective reading of the IMF report on Greece'

"The Minister of National Economy and Finance is celebrating by conducting a selective reading of the International Monetary Fund’s report on Greece," main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change said in a statement on Wednesday, stressing that a detailed plan and vision for the economy are required.
It specifically stated that "the essence of the report lies in the fact that the benefits of economic growth in recent years are being distributed unfairly, as reflected in the poverty rate of the Greek population, which remains disproportionately high at 26.1%, and in the real GDP per capita, which not only ranks significantly lower than the EU average but has not even reached the levels of 2007."
According to PASOK, "the report also certifies that the government squandered the historic opportunity to change the production model by utilising the Recovery and Resilience Fund." The party added that, according to the IMF, economic growth rates are expected to slow down in the current two-year period, from 2.3% to 1.9%, despite the inflow of billions of euros from the Recovery Fund, while the current account balance is expected to remain negative at 6% - for another year - highlighting the chronic problems of the Greek economy.
