Tzitzikostas visits BMW and MAN: We will do whatever it takes to protect our industry and European citizens

Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas visited the European vehicle industries MAN and BMW in Munich.
Tzitzikostas was given a guided tour of the facilities of the MAN car manufacturer by CEO Alexander Vlaskamp and visited the BMW headquarters, where he was shown around the production line by CEO Oliver Zipse.
During his stay in Munich, Tzitzikostas also had meetings with the CEOs of both companies and senior executives of the German automotive industry. In addition, he participated in working meetings with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobilclub (ADAC) and the Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (VBW).
In a statement on the US Trump administration's tariffs on European vehicles, Tzitzikostas said, "I express my concern about this decision of the US government because it will cause problems for both workers and automotive companies worldwide. But Europe is prepared to respond. We will always protect Europe's interests and values, and I want to assure you that we are ready to do whatever it takes to protect our industry, our consumers, and the citizens of Europe.”
Great exchange with Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of @MANtruckandbus and Frederik Zohm, Executive Board Member for Research & Development at their test ground in Munich, where I was able to experience EU’s innovation firsthand:
