GNTO: Strengthening of Greek-US cooperation in the cruise sector

The prospects for further strengthening Greece-US relations in the sectors of tourism, as well as entrepreneurship and culture, were at the centre of the discussion between Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) Andreas Fiorentinos and Greek-American mayor of Fort Lauderdale Dean Trantalis.
The meeting took place during Fiorentinos' visit to the Florida city, on the occasion of the participation of GNTO in the 40th International Cruise Exhibition Seatrade Global Cruise 2025, which is taking place between April 7 and 10 in Miami.
Fiorentinos was the official guest at a dinner hosted in his honour by Trantalis, while other participants included the Greek consul in Tampa, Konstantinos Danasis, distinguished Greek Americans from the scientific and business world of the state, as well as the president of Greater Ft. Lauderdale Sister Cities International, Russell Weaver.
Highlighted during the event were the importance of the Greek National Tourism Organisation's extroversion and the practical support of the local authorities of Florida for the promotion of Greece in the American market as a cruise destination and a top tourist destination in general.
The Seatrade Global Cruise exhibition is considered one of the largest and most important international cruise industry events, and has been held through the years in Miami, the largest cruise port in the world.
