The Easter Basket discount prices measure began on Monday 7 April and will last until the day before Easter, 19 April. It includes products such as lamb and goat meat, tsoureki, chocolate easter eggs and other chocolate products.
As Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos pointed out, "it is a positive initiative and provides alternatives for better prices, which is why citizens are embracing it." He also personally clarified that, for this year, there is no need for a "Godfather's Basket" as inflation in the relevant products is zero.
During the Easter holidays, extended shop opening hours will apply from Thursday, 10 April. 
Shops will also be open on Sunday, 14 April.
