Hatzidakis: We must safeguard the progress achieved; the government's work is progressing at an accelerated pace

The government's work is progressing at an accelerated pace, Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said on Sunday in an interview with Realnews.
"Our vision is a country that will constantly rise higher: with an even stronger economy, better wages and new jobs, better public services and, of course, quality education, with strong institutions and a Justice that will not drag on. In other words, a Greece that will move forward with steady steps," he added.
He referred to the significant work in the second four-year term of the government, citing the main reforms, such as: "The passage of the law on non-state universities. The results in the battle against tax evasion. The reform initiatives to accelerate Justice. Work that obviously needs to be communicated. Beyond that, the government still has a lot of work to do, with an emphasis on a series of initiatives."
On the issue of US tariffs, he emphasized that "we are monitoring developments carefully. The most important issue for the time being is of course the tariffs that were imposed by the US a few days ago. We all lose out from trade wars. Greece does not have such large exports in percentage terms to the US, however, these developments will have some negative effects on the European and global economy for at least a while. Greece cannot be an exception and this means that the government and the people must be particularly careful."
