"The New Democracy government is telling 2.5 million pensioners and people entitled to allowances to spend Easter on borrowed money, refusing to pay pensions and allowances a few days earlier than April 20," SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesman George Karameros said in a statement on Saturday.
He added: "This way it affects both households and the market. It is going from one fiasco to another fiasco, because it has lost all contact with society and its needs. They should pay pensions and allowances on the days that common sense dictates."
