Theodorikakos to ANA-MPA: Stability and a new production model are a national necessity amidst global turmoil

The radical changes in the global economic landscape make the productive transformation of our economy imperative, Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos stated in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), commenting on how prepared Europe and Greece are following the announcement of Trump's tariffs.
The minister noted that the risk of recession and inflation is more visible than in any other year since the great crisis of 2008, however, much will depend on the way other major economies react.
There is a domino effect that is difficult to assess accurately, as he stated, while emphasizing that "what is certain is that everyone needs to be calm and have a plan."
As for Greece, the minister noted that "it has significant exports to the US, but this is not the decisive factor. Our country will be more affected as a member of the EU, which is also one of the main targets of the tariffs."
Theodorikakos underlined that what Greece needs is a new, integrated production model and this is what the government is already putting into practice.
"We are moving forward with a clear plan, fully utilizing important European financial tools, such as the Recovery and Resilience Fund, to strengthen the productive base, support industry, manufacturing and the primary sector, but also to create an attractive environment for innovation, investment and entrepreneurship. At the same time, we are investing decisively in the digital and green transition, which are necessary conditions for the sustainability and competitiveness of the Greek economy," the minister emphasized.
