160 third-country nationals repatriated in two operations within 48 hours

Two operations for the return of third-country nationals from Greece, whose asylum applications had been definitively rejected, were completed.

According to the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, one of the most massive returns to date was completed on Friday. Specifically, 134 Georgian nationals returned voluntarily in the framework of the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme, organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

Also on Thursday, a return flight carrying 26 Georgian nationals, whose international protection claims had been definitively rejected, took place. The operation was carried out by the Greek Police under the coordination of the European Agency.
