Tsoukalas: 'Polls show that citizens are determined that ND must go'

Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas on Friday said that his party was the only one to increase its electoral strength as reflected in the opinion polls, relative to the percentage it received in the European elections nine months ago. "Ruling New Democracy (ND)is down and SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance's percentage is half that of the European elections," he added.
He noted that PASOK aimed higher, however, and in comments regarding the prospect of collaborations with other parties, Tsoukalas said the opinion polls seemed to show that "the citizens are determined that New Democracy must go and are convinced that the prime minister has nothing to do with stability". He also stressed that "cooperation with Plefsi Eleftherias is not a solution. The solution is to have a progressive programme against New Democracy. PASOK can make this happen."
Commenting the imposing of tariffs by the USA, Tsoukalas noted that these "are issues we expected. Trump had announced them. He had implemented some of them in his first term and announced them precisely in his programme."
