Hellenic Parliament President Kaklamanis meets with French Ambassador Auer

The President of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis, met on Wednesday with the Ambassador of the French Republic in Athens Laurence Auer.
According to a statement, Kaklamanis described the bilateral relations as excellent, which he said are based on strong historical ties of friendship. He also stressed that the parliaments of Greece and France enjoy close cooperation with frequent exchanges of visits by officials. He also referred to the Greece-France Defence Agreement and the need to strengthen the financing of European defence and the modernisation of the armed forces. Auer, for her part, pointed out that France is one of Greece's important economic and trade partners and expressed her conviction that this strategic cooperation will bring significant benefits to both countries.
