Athens Mayor Haris Doukas will visit Ankara on Saturday as representative of the Party of European Socialists (PES) group in the European Committee of the Regions.

In the Turkish capital he will meet with the leadership of the Republican People's Paty (CHP) on the issue of the detention of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.

On Sunday, Doukas will attend the CHP congress and participate in a delegation visiting Ankara to express its support to Imamoglu.
