500 additional people with disabilities enrol in the ‘Personal Assistant’ programme

The lottery for the inclusion of an additional 500 persons with disabilities in the "Personal Assistant" programme was held on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs and the Organisation of Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity (OPEKA).
The new beneficiaries came from the already submitted applications, which had been approved but not selected in the previous phases of the programme.
Beneficiaries can see if they have been selected on prosopikosvoithos.gov.gr by clicking on "my application".
To date, the programme has provided personal assistants for 1,354 persons with disabilities, while 1,928 professionals have already contributed to supporting beneficiaries.
Social Cohesion and Family Affairs Minister Domna Michailidou said: "500 people who are receiving what should be a given: the support they need to live with dignity, autonomy, and safety. To participate equally in social and professional life! We demand an inclusive society, a society for all.”
The 42 million euro programme is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund and extended until 2026, with the aim of gradually establishing it at the national level through NSRF funding.
