PM Mitsotakis on TikTok: Minimum wage set at 880 euros; will rise to 950 euros by 2027

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in a post on TikTok, referred to the increase of the minimum wage.

"The minimum wage as of today is set at 880 euros gross, of which 743 are net," and it's not an April Fools' joke," he stressed. Mitsotakis emphasised that the government will make good on its commitment to a 950 euro minimum wage in 2027. He also said that in 2019 the minimum wage was 650 euros, and today it is 880 euros, which corresponds to a difference in favour of the worker of 3000 euros per year net. As Mitsotakis said, this is the fifth increase in the minimum wage since 2019 and affects more than 1.6 million of our fellow citizens, which, he said, puts Greece in 11th place in Europe in terms of the minimum wage.
