Theodorikakos: The ministry fighting daily battles to confront phenomena of profiteering

"The main mission of the Ministry of Development is to contribute to attracting investments, to utilising the money from the development law, so that thousands of well-paid jobs are created," underlined Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos on Tuesday in an interview , speaking to Action 24.
"By 2025, three regimes will be introduced, for manufacturing, large investments and one exclusively for border regions and regions with less than 70% of the national GDP. We want to reduce regional inequalities, 900 million euros are being directed towards this purpose," added Theodorikakos.
"We are working for sustainable, strong growth with better wages for workers," he added, and said that "in the last five months we have succeeded in having the lowest inflation rate in Europe. With hard work, inspections, increased fines and implementation of the new code of conduct for misleading discounts and offers. We will continue to do everything in our power regarding prices, I have given orders to Interagency for Market Control(DIMEA)crews to conduct thorough checks as regards profit margins in relation to 2021," the minister said.
"Every day we are fighting and will fight to confront phenomena of profiteering and those who do not comply with the laws. I guarantee the implementation of the laws," he stressed.
The minister also said that the "Easter Basket" with lower-priced Easter goods will be introduced on Monday, offering alternatives at lower prices, and clarified that there is no need for a "Godfather's basket" as inflation in the relevant products is zero.
