Superfund: Four groups express interest in cruiseship dev't at Katakolo, Patras, Kavala ports

Four investment groups hve expressed interest in the international tender for the concession of cruiseship activities at the Katakolo port and a section of the old Patras port (section 1 of tender), as well as in the Kavala Central Port 'Apostolos Pavlos' (section 2 of tender), Greece's Superfund said on Monday.
The tender for the development of cruiseship activities at the three ports consists of two sections, the first relating to Katakolo (NW Peloponnese, near Ancient Olympia) and a section of the old Patras port within the jurisdiction of the Patras Port Authority (30-year concession), and the second to the Kavala Central Port, within the jurisdiction of the Kavala Port Authority (30-year concession).
The groups expressing interest are as follows (alphabetical order):
- Consortium Cruise Terminal Investment Limited Sàrl - V Group SM SA (section 1)
- Cruise Terminals International Ltd (section 1)
- GPH Cruise Port Finance Ltd (sections 1 & 2)
- LAMDA MARINAS SA Holdings and Development of Tourist Ports (section 2).
After submitted bids are evaluated and investors pass into the second round, they will be asked to submit binding offers.
The Superfund said that the further development of cruiseship tourism in existing and new destinations is part of a policy to manage tourist flows in popular ports more efficiently and phenomena of overconcentration.
