Risk Assessment Committee convenes ahead of severe weather phenomena expected in Greece

The Risk Assessment Committee convened on Monday in view of the severe weather phenomena expected in many parts of Greece.
The Committee was convened by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Yiannis Kefalogiannis, and the topic of the meeting was the updated Emergency Report of Hazardous Weather Phenomena of the Hellenic Meteorological Service.
According to the committee's scientists, from Monday afternoon until Wedneday there will be locally heavy rains and storms at intervals in most of the eastern areas of the country.
It is noted that earlier a 112 message was issued for the islands of Cyclades, where from today at noon until tomorrow morning the phenomena will be particularly intense.
A Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announcement said that the Civil Protection Operations Centre has contacted the local authorities, security forces, etc., so that all involved bodies are fully informed about the impending weather phenomena and are ready to respond.
