Deputy Min Kontogeorgis: Gov't lays emphasis on tax relief for citizens

The government provides as much support as it can to households at difficult times, and the Greek economy shows resilience, which proves something has worked, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Thanassis Kontogeorgis told Real FM radio.

He underlined however that tax relief is a focus of the government, while all investments in public infrastructure, health and education "return to citizens." As Kontogeorgis said, "Obviously we need to expend any surplus we have to tax reliefs that will be direct and felt by every citizens, and to public investments."

The government is emphasizing that return of value to citizens. "That is why we are trying for a good execution of the state budget, to manage the funding well, so that they see abroad that there is a consistency in a fiscally responsible policy, allowing us to borrow - as it happens already - under very good terms," he noted.
