We have done everything to avoid a trade war and we will continue to do so, European Commission Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, Stéphane Séjourné, said on Thursday, during his visit to the METLEN facilities in Agios Nikolaos, Boeotia.

"Europe knows how to react to this type of tariff attack. We will have a corresponding trade retaliation if there are such new announcements," he added.

The EU Vice-President expressed his regret over the US decision to impose tariffs on car imports, adding that the negotiation that preceded it was not a real negotiation.
