"Our mission is to continue the uninterrupted supply of high-quality drinking water in Attica even in the most extreme climatic conditions. This certainty that has been established for decades will not be questioned in any way," Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company (EYDAP) President George Stergiou underlined in an interview to the Athens-Macedonian Agency (ANA-MPA).
As he emphasized, "following the government’s initiative, the implementation of the plan announced a few months ago is already progressing. EYDAP, with its unique expertise in critical water infrastructure in Greece, is already actively contributing to the study of these projects (...) so that Attica can have timely access to additional water resources."
This has been achieved despite the particularly adverse climatic conditions of the last three years, which significantly reduced the water reserves.
