SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Sokratis Famellos accused Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of a "democratic coup and an extreme cover-up," over the direct referral of Christos Triantopoulos to justice, without first completing the investigation in the preliminary examination committee in parliament.
In an interview with KONTRA TV, he said: "We never said that Mr. Triantopoulos should not be investigated by Parliament. Mr. Mitsotakis is asking for this. He is attempting a coup against truth and justice."
Famellos also said that "the majority of society does not trust him and does not believe that there will be justice under this prime minister".
On the cooperation of the progressive parties, Famellos said "SYRIZA's position is steadily in favour of such cooperation."
