The Hellenic Police announced that from 21 to 25 March, it will implement increased road safety measures ahead of Greek Independence Day on 25 March.

Increased traffic measures will also be in place in areas with mass passenger movement, such as airports, ports, and stations.
To ensure safer vehicle movement, a ban on lorries with a payload of more than 3.5 tonnes will be enforced on motorways. Specifically, for outbound traffic, the ban will be in effect on Friday (21/3) from 16:00 to 21:00 and Saturday (22/3) from 08:00 to 13:00. For inbound traffic, the restriction will apply on Tuesday (25/3) from 15:00 to 21:00.
