Passenger traffic in all Greek airports 6.1 pct up in the first two months of 2025

Passenger traffic posted a 6.1 percent increase in the first two months of 2025 in all the airports of Greece. Specifically, passenger traffic in the period January-February 2025 reached 5,322,218, compared to 5,018,004 passengers in the corresponding period of 2024.
Regarding the number of aircraft arrivals and departures (domestic and international) in the first two months of 2025, at all 39 airports in the country whose air traffic control is mainly exercised by the Civil Aviation Authority, there was an increase of 3.2% compared to 2024. Specifically, in total, 46,900 flights were carried out during the period January-February 2025, compared to 45,464 flights in the first two months of 2024.
Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupoli, Limnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Achialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastellorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia) increased by 14.3% in the first two months of 2025, compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
Specifically, according to the statistics, the total number of passengers (arrivals and departures of international and domestic passengers) in January-February 2025 amounted to 426,755 passengers, compared to 373,518 passengers in 2024.
The state airport of Heraklion, Crete, served 125,133 passengers in February, an increase of 30% compared to last year, when 96,267 passengers were served for the same month. At the same time, the most significant percentage increases in passenger traffic at the airports managed by the Civil Aviation Authority in February 2025 compared to 2024 were recorded at Chios airport (12.2%), and at Kasos (6.5%).
