Sailing ban imposed at ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio due to high winds

Ships were forbidden to sail from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio on Wednesday due to gale-force winds of up to 9 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea.
Ferry connections to the islands of the Saronic Gulf were only being carried out by closed-type ferries, while the ferry lines between Agia Marina-Nea Styra, Kalava-Prinos and Kavala-Thassos were suspended. The Volos-Sporades islands ferry lines began operating after 10:00.
Passengers intending to travel on Wednesday are advised to contact port authorities and travel agencies before departure to be informed of possible changes to ferry itineraries due to the bad weather.
