BoG: NPLs managed by servicers increase to 74.75 bln euros in Q4 2024

The nominal value of loans to the domestic private sector serviced by domestic Credit Servicing Firms (CSFs) that have been transferred to non-resident specialised financial institutions increased by 3,970 million euros, the Bank of Greece (BoG) said on Tuesday. They reached a total value of 74,750 million euros at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, an increase by 3,970 million euros, BoG noted.

The nominal value of serviced corporate loans increased to 25,516 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2024, from 23,156 million euros in the previous quarter. Specifically, the nominal value of loans to non-financial corporations (NFCs) increased by 2,361 million euros to 25,478 million euros at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024. Out of the total of these loans to NFCs, an amount of 10,683 million euros corresponds to loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 

The nominal value of loans to other financial institutions serviced by CSFs decreased by 1 million euros at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024 and stood at 38 million euros.

The nominal value of loans to sole proprietors, farmers and unincorporated partnerships serviced by CSFs increased by 692 million euros from the previous quarter to 10,102 million euros at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.

The nominal value of loans to individuals and private non-profit institutions serviced by CSFs increased by 918 million euros to 39,132 million euros at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024. In further detail, consumer loans serviced increased by 290 million euros to 16,050 million euros. The corresponding housing loans increased by 604 million euros to 22,769 million euros.
