Mitsotakis to Cabinet: The government's commitments should become a visible work in the eyes of citizens

"We are finding our clear horizon again. The message of the reshuffle is twofold: Renewal and action to make the life of the citizen better. Our motto: Faster, bolder," said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Saturday at the first meeting of the cabinet, under its new composition.
"I welcome the generation of 40-years-olds. The participation of Kostis Hatzidakis strengthens the role of the Maximos Mansion as political centre. Kostis Hatzidakis will coordinate the productive and Akis Skertsos the institutional and social portfolios," he continued.
Referring to the blue folders that the ministers received, the Prime Minister said: "Our way of working is being renewed: Beyond the current ones, you will focus on priorities that I will personally oversee. I want tangible results per sector."
Mitsotakis referred to changes in three areas: Economy - Infrastructure, Transportation - Migration Policy and Shipping.
Regarding the economy, he emphasised that the Moody's upgrade amid international liquidity is proof of the importance of stability. "Collective progress should be transferred to the wallet of every citizen," he underlined.
Speaking about infrastructure and transportation, he said that major changes are a personal commitment of the new ministers and spoke of their dynamism in the face of the obstacles of the "deep state."
Regarding Migration Policy and Shipping, he said that new data are being formed in Europe. The priority, he said, is the return of undocumented migrants who do not have asylum and controlled immigration for labour.
Furthermore, Mitsotakis noted that the government's commitments must become visible work in the eyes of citizens.
"Political experience and technocratic knowledge have a place in the national effort," he noted adding that "we have clear goals and a plan to achieve them. Everything depends on us. Our attitude and behaviour on the public stage are also crucial."
