Korkidis to ANA-MPA: Political reshuffles can help the government in reforming the economy

A political reshuffle can help the government in reforming the economy but it is never enough by itself, said the president of Pireaus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vassilis Korkidis to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Friday, regarding the cabinet reshuffle and the current economic conjuncture.
Korkidis noted: "Everyday life and especially the well-being of citizens depends on the mix of economic and social policies that will be chosen. The new government announced essentially signals a restart that requires a younger generation of politicians to take on the task of implementing future growth support measures that can improve the economic climate. Its impact depends on various factors, such as the quality of the changes, the government's strategy and the general economic climate.
"The aim of the reshuffle is to place the right politician in the right position for the fastest implementation of reforms in the relevant ministries. The rotation of the prime minister began with the coordinator in the Maximos Mansion and was followed selectively by several ministries, while in others the composition did not change. At a time when a global trade war has begun, the government must send a stronger message in all directions that it is investment-friendly, but also willing to rapidly improve the infrastructure that will establish our country as a strategic trade hub. We hope that the government reshuffle will be successful and will help not only politics but also the economy in the current situation. Good luck to the new ministers and deputy ministers, and good luck to those who remain in their positions of responsibility.
"We expect a lot from all ministries, reshuffled and not, correctly and quickly."
