Traffic measures due to more protests over Tempi held in Athens, Thessaloniki

Traffic measures restricting vehicle access to central roads in Athens were imposed on Thursday afternoon, due to another rally and protest march over the 2023 rail disaster at Tempi. A demonstration and protest march by students over Tempi was also held in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki.
Protestors in Athens initially gathered at Propylea on Panepistimiou Street and then marched to the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in front of Parliament, while Amalias Avenue was closed to cars. According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), six people were detained in police checks before the start of the march.
The march in Thessaloniki began at the Venizelos statue and made its way through central city streets, passing by the Macedonia-Thrace ministry before continuing toward Kamara and its termination at the universities.
