Marinakis: President Tassoulas, as regulator of the state's institutions, now represents all Greeks

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis began the daily press briefing on Thursday by announcing the swearing-in of the new President of the Hellenic Republic Constantine Tassoulas. "The government extends its wishes for a good term to the state's highest official, who is assuming his duties at an unusual and difficult international juncture. Tassoulas, as the regulator of the state's institutions, as per the Constitution, now represents all Greeks, regardless of the stance adopted by the parties in Parliament, and it is everyone's duty to contribute to forging unity and strengthening citizens' trust in the institutions," he added.
He also spoke of the new platform pinakio.gov.gr that allows lawyers, litigants and citizens to monitor the progress of court cases in real time. "Through the application, available on gov.gr and on Apple & Android mobile phones, users can see which cases have already been heard, which are pending or have been postponed, without physically being present in the courts."
Marinakis then said that "a ban on outdoor fires in all areas of the territory was decided during the emergency meeting convened by Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vasilis Kikilias, due to the increased number of fires observed in recent days. The day before yesterday alone, over 70 fires broke out across the country, mainly caused by the burning of crop residues."
