National e-File on Health collecting all health data of citizens in one place begins operation

The National e-File on Health, collecting all private and public health data of citizens in one place, is now in operation and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, Health and Digital Governance Minister Adonis Georgiadis and Dimitris Papastergiou announced on Monday.
Accordinig to Alternate Health Minister Irini Agapidaki, the Individual e-File platform was used as a model until Monday.
The National e-File on Health will include all medical data, demographic data, medical history, medication, allergies, vaccination, medical test results, X-ray images, vital points, and personal statistics including age, weight, and medical appointments. It will draw and exchange information across platforms (prescriptions, hospitals, private health centers and registries) and will be fully accessible to doctors and citizens through the now-upgraded My Health App platform.
The new system will facilitate citizens contacts with health services and improve the management of National Health System resources.
Part of the program for health services' digital upgrade, the project is implemented throught the Recovery Fund.
Clarification on KEPAs
Once the National e-File is fully implemented, the Disability Certification Centers (KEPA) will not be abolished, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis clarified later on Monday.
On the contrary, he said, the new system will facilitate the issuing of certifications, as citizens will not have to go through the process of commitee examinations to get them.
