Androulakis: The government is in decline; PASOK can guarantee the political change needed

The countdown has started and PASOK is poised to speed up the political change that the country and its people need, main opposition leader Nikos Androulakis said on Friday addressing the parliament plenary during the debate on the censure of motion against the government.
PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis lashed out at the government, saying that it is a government in decline, far from the needs of the Greek people and the younger generations.
He added that "the motion of no confidence is the only institutional tool of the opposition that will lead the country to elections and give the Greek people the chance to show the exit door. Elections are required so that the political change can come, with a government that respects the citizens and their efforts. The country needs oxygen. Oxygen for the truth. Oxygen for justice."
"Our party maintains its political autonomy against the interests of the domestic oligarchy - those that you have represented throughout time. PASOK is the democratic and progressive proposal for governance," Androulakis stated.
He added that "the real dilemma of the next national elections is not "you or chaos," but rather "the arrogant and corrupt system of New Democracy, or the renewed PASOK that has a governance plan for the country responding to the anxieties of the Greek people."
Androulakis harshly criticised the government over the Tempi tragedy. He noted that its stance was a "parade of hypocrisy, unreliability and arrogance", and for three days the Greek Parliament was bombarded with fake news, attributing personal responsibilities to the prime minister, saying that he resembles a prime minister locked in a glass tower. "You have enormous responsibilities both for the tragedy itself, but also for everything that has happened since that tragic night. No one will forgive your insulting behavior towards the Greek people and above all towards the families of the victims."
The leader of the main opposition also accused the government of hypocrisy regarding Justice, speaking of interventions in its work and stated that the situation on the railway is worse than ever.
Androulakis urged the government to admit its failure. "The time has come for a unified, stable and radical solution for our railways. And we are determined to offer this solution and we will present it to the Greek people," Androulakis underlined.
