Famellos: SYRIZA will be a factor of stability and solution

Opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Sokratis Famellos said that the motion of censure is the highest parliamentary tool when there is an overall problem of no confidence in the government.

Famellos, speaking on Thursday to radio Real FM, explained that the there are two motives that led to the filing of the joint motion of no confidence; on the one hand the "political" one, which concerns the "feeling that the government cannot do its job and is politically unreliable", and on the other hand, the "democratic" one, as "society has delegitimised the government", while "it has judged that it is responsible for the cover-up (of the Tempi tragedy) and bears responsibilities".

Regarding the "political solution" proposed by the opposition parties, since no government majority is in sight, he emphasised that "the Greek people will choose which government solution exists", but on the basis of a comprehensive "alternative" government proposal. He even noted that during his intervention in the debate on the motion of no confidence, he will refer to this "SYRIZA alternative proposal. SYRIZA will be a factor of stability and solution,” he said, emphasising that this “ programme will also be the basis for possible collaborations.”

Regarding the possibilities of cooperation with the other progressive parties, he commented that from the moment PASOK-KINAL agreed to submit the proposal, it only took "one day" for them to agree on the text and there was no "conflict and friction", which, as he said, is "positive" because they managed to respond to society's request.

Concluding, Famellos expressed his optimism that progressive parties "must be able" to cooperate on a range of initiatives, from "justice" to "profiteering."
