Ministry of Culture signs agreement for security reports on key archaeological sites

Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni and Citizen Protection Ministry's Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) on Thursday signed a program agreement under which KEMEA will provide security reports on six major archaeological sites in Greece: Mycenae, Epidaurus, Ancient Olympia, Delphi, Knossos, and Lindos.
According to a statement by the ministry, the purpose of the project is to strengthen security measures and further evaluate possible threats to cultural sites, and redefine security measures based on new developments and technological advances. The project would also train site staff on the safety of visitors and facilities.
KEMEA serves the ministry in an independent advisory capacity.
